MMR Student Support Fund Recognizes Its Founding Contributors
Each of the following alumni have paid $5000 to the MMR Student Support Fund as part of the “Pay It Forward” campaign.
A look at the careers of these alumni
since graduating from the program
Mike Anderson ('97) graduated from the MMR program in 1997.
After graduation he joined Convergys Corp. where he maintained several
positions, eventually becoming the Director of Customer Relationship Management.
In 2003 he joined dunnhumbyUSA as an Account Director.
Rob Arnett ('82)
began his career at Frito-Lay before moving to M/A/R/C as an Account Executive in 1984. He was eventually promoted to Senior Vice president in the Greensboro office. He later moved to SDR Consulting in 2000 where he was Managing Partner and co-owner of the company. In 2005 he joined Solution Partners Consulting where he is a Senior Partner.
Adrian Bing-Zaremba ('93) began an internship with Johnson &
Johnson/Merck Consumer
Pharmaceuticals after graduation and remained there for three years before transferring
to
McNeil Consumer Pharmaceuticals as the Marketing Research Manager for Tylenol. He
left for
two years to pursue global opportunities with the Campbell Soup Company where he
coordinated
research in Europe, Asia and Latin America. In 1999 he returned to Johnson &
Johnson and he now works in Pharmaceutical Marketing Research and leads the CNS
Franchise of Janssen Pharmaceutica.
Paula Bryan ('96) began her career in 1996 at Johnson & Johnson/Merck
Consumer
Pharmaceuticals in Fort Washington, PA. From there she moved to to the state of
Washington
in 1998 to work for Microsoft where she has performed advertising research for the
corporate
image campaigns as well as Microsoft's other eight strategic brands.
Andrea Burns ('03) graduated from the MMR program in 2003 and started
her career as an
intern at MMR Research Associates in Atlanta. She has stayed on as a Senior Project
Manager and also serves as support personnel for the MMR Alumni Association, managing
both the Alumni Database and Website.
Bill Denk ('82) began his 18-year stint with the M/A/R/C Research
organization in Chicago.
While in Chicago he became Associate Manager in 1985 and Vice President in 1987.
He then moved to the M/A/R/C office in Dallas in 1991, then to the Atlanta office
in 1995 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 1998. In March 2000, Bill joined
AIM Technologies in Austin, Texas as Chief Research Officer. He later returned to
Atlanta where he joined MMR Research Associates as a Senior Partner in 2001.
Susan Driscoll ('86) began her career at The Coca-Cola Company
where she spent 10 years developing her marketing experience on five continents
in over thirty countries. In 1997, Susan and her husband Mark founded McWhorter
Driscoll LLC, where she is currently responsible for all brand strategy development
and applications.
Ajay Gupta ('97) joined Federal Express in July 1997 as a Senior
Market Research Analyst and became a Marketing Research Advisor one year later.
He joined Bank One Card Services in March 1999 as a Senior Market Research Manager.
From there, he was promoted to Group Market Research Manager in Sept 2001 and then
became Senior Group Research Manager in November 2003.
Mark Jones ('84) received his MMR degree in 1984 and started his
career at McNeil Consumer Products in Philadelphia, PA. From there he moved to Englewood
Cliffs, NJ where he worked for Lipton Tea Company. In 1989 he moved back to Atlanta
to work for Booth Research before founding MMR Research Associates, Inc. in 1999.
Chris Murphy ('91) has an extensive background in marketing research.
He has held several positions including Executive Director and Vice President of
Brand Strategy and Market Sciences/Research at Verizon Communications (formerly
GTE) and senior-level positions with M/A/R/C Research and US West. Chris currently
lives in Nashville where he is a Senior Vice President with Millward Brown.
Bruce Olson ('93) landed a position with M/A/R/C Research in Dallas
in 1993 in Marketing Sciences and New Product Development. He later joined The Coca-Cola
Company where he spent 6.5 years in various positions supporting global research
and planning. In 2003 he joined MMR Research Associates, Inc.
Shekhar Sattiraju ('01) joined Bayer Pharmaceuticals as an intern
in 2001. He later moved to
Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals where he is currently working as a Senior Marketing
Research Analyst.
Alec Schendzelos ('97) joined Directions Research, Inc. as a research
analyst in 1997. He has
served as an On-Site Account Manager, Account Associate, Account Executive, and
Senior Account Executive. In 2003 he established the southeastern client service
office for Directions Research in Charleston, South Carolina.
Manju Sudhakaran ('03) started her career as an intern at Mead
Johnson Nutritionals/Bristol Myers Squibb. She then took a Graduate Associate position
at the Walt Disney Company. Currently Manju is working as a Senior Research Analyst
for Millward Brown in Chicago.
Ben Tolchinsky ('04) worked for MMR Research Associates in Atlanta
as Project Director for 3 years before joining the MMR program and has recently
accepted a position at Burke Inc.
Bob and Kate Van Dam ('97) are both graduates from the class of
1997. After the MMR program Bob joined FedEx in Memphis and Kate worked for American
Express in Manhattan. Kate moved to Memphis the next year and joined Archer Malmo
in Account Planning. In 1999 they were married and moved to Boston where Kate maintains
her passion for Account Planning as Vice President, Director Brand Planning at Arnold
Worldwide. Since moving to Boston, Bob has held positions at Ocean Spray and SciQuest.com
and is now Vice President of Client Services at Knowledge Networks.
